Many studies and research have concluded that the health benefits of coffee does include reducing the risk of a number of diseases, even type 2 diabetes.
It it most certain that the health benefits of coffee can’t be denied. In fact. the researchers at Harvard found that drinking one to three cups of coffee each day can cut the chance of diabetes by single digits.
The reduction of the risk of diabetes in men could be reduced by as much as 54% (and women by 30%) if they had six or more cups a day. Undeniably, the benefits of drinking at least drinking six cups or more, this study mirrored another one done by the Dutch. In fact, the health benefits of coffee could make it a bit of a health food if consumed correctly.
There have been nearly 20,000 detailed studies performed to find out the health benefits of coffee. The overwhelming answer for most people is that there’s little downside to drinking coffee and on the other hand, potentially a lot of good.
For instance, in six different studies, it was discovered that 80% of those studied were less likely to develop Parkinson’s disease. When compared to not drinking coffee at all, having just two cups of day could reduce the chance of getting colon cancer by 25% and the chance of cirrhosis of the liver by 80%.
Other benefits of coffee can include:

- reducing the severity of headaches
- an improved mood
- and cavity prevention.
The benefits may also include a reduced risk of certain types of cancer (specifically oral, esophageal and pharyngeal cancer) as well as gallstone disease and even heart disease.
Most studies point to the caffeine in the coffee as the main source of the health benefits of coffee. The average cup of coffee contains 85 mg of caffeine, which has been linked to reductions in the incidence of Parkinson’s and the severity of asthma attacks and headaches. By comparison, tea contains 1/3 the caffeine, as does an ounce of chocolate – something that the makers of Excedrin and Anacin have known for some time.
A single dose of these pain relievers contain 120 mg of caffeine, delivering a healthy dose of caffeine right into the bloodstream. The health benefits of coffee, and caffeine in particular, is leading researchers to develop new classes of drugs to help fight Parkinson’s that include a caffeine derivative.
