Many Chrome users have been experiencing problems with pages that include high-resolution images or animated GIFs, both of which can be slow to load in the browser. Mail Online, for example regularly publishes long articles embellished with huge photos that can have Chrome hanging.
Fortunately, there’s a quick fix that doesn’t require an add-on or image filter. Either type chrome:flags into your address bar and scroll down to the entry‘Enable GPU rasterization’ ; or jump directly to chrome://flags/#enable-gpu-rasterization. Choose Enable from the drop-down menu, click Relaunch Now and you should notice that images load more quickly.
Hope this helped.
